Naveeko is a travel platform for independent travel advisors in Canada, built in two halves that share one trip. Advisors run their business from a web portal: they keep client profiles, build day-by-day itineraries with flights, hotels and experiences, put together proposals with several options, and send invoices. A checklist on every trip, alerts on the dashboard and compliance scores for agency owners keep each booking in line with TICO, Ontario’s travel industry regulator.
Travellers get the other half: a mobile app, branded with their advisor’s agency, that opens on the trip itself. It holds the full itinerary, every booking reference and voucher, a map with the advisor’s recommendations, a currency converter, travel advisories and an emergency hub with local numbers. Proposals arrive in the app too, where clients compare the options side by side, approve one and pay the deposit, or ask for changes in chat.
We designed both products end to end, from the advisor’s first login to the traveller’s last day abroad, including the moments that matter on the road: offline maps and documents, messages that wait for a signal, and clear empty and error states.
What makes it work
Advisor dashboard with upcoming departures, unread messages, tasks by due date and alerts that need attention
Day-by-day itinerary builder with flights, hotels, booking references and prices
A readiness checklist on every trip: requirements, insurance, travel notices, terms, emergency details and documents
Proposals with several options, built from a reusable travel library and saved as templates
An agency owner view with advisor performance, revenue, approvals and TICO compliance alerts
One click publishes the trip to the traveller's app, branded with the advisor's agency
The app opens on the trip: countdown, weather, local time, what's next and the advisor one tap away
Clients compare proposal options side by side, approve one and pay the deposit, or ask for changes
Every booking in the itinerary, from seat and booking reference to hotel check-in and what's included
Passports, insurance, e-tickets and vouchers saved for offline use, with scannable codes
A trip map with pins from Naveeko, the advisor and the traveller, told apart by shape and icon, not colour alone
Chat with the advisor that keeps working offline: messages wait and send when the signal returns
An emergency hub with local numbers, the embassy and the advisor, plus official travel advisories for each destination
The challenge
Naveeko had to give independent advisors the tools of a big agency, and give their travellers an app that feels like having the advisor in their pocket.
5 problems we had to solve, from UX design, compliance, reliability and more.
- 01 / 05UX design
Two audiences, one trip
Advisors need density and control: tasks, pricing, compliance and many clients at once. Travellers need calm. Both products read the same trip, but the portal shows it as a workspace and the app as a simple day-by-day story.
- 02 / 05Compliance
Compliance as part of the workflow
TICO-registered advisors have to show their clients got the right information. Every trip carries a checklist with a progress score, the dashboard flags gaps before departure, and agency owners see a compliance score for each advisor.
- 03 / 05Reliability
Built for no signal
Travellers are often offline abroad. Documents and maps download ahead of time, the app says plainly when it is offline and what still works, pins and emergency numbers included, and chat messages wait and send on reconnect.
- 04 / 05Interaction
Choosing, not just reading
A proposal with three options is hard to judge on a phone. Each option gets a card with its price per person, a side-by-side comparison and a day-by-day view, then one button to approve and pay the deposit, or quick requests like a lower budget or different dates that go straight to the advisor.
- 05 / 05Security
Personal data, shared on purpose
Passport details, medical information and emergency contacts live in the traveller's profile. Sharing medical details with the advisor is a switch the traveller controls, and the pins a traveller adds to the map stay private.
5 of 5 solved
One trip, two views, and nothing lost between the advisor's desk and the traveller's phone.
