MentorHER RisingWomen's Growth Community App

A compassionate personal-growth app and website for women: a guided 30-day Butterfly Challenge, habit tracking, a private journal, a supportive community and mentoring memberships, designed with zero shame and privacy first.

MentorHER Rising is a personal growth community for women, founded by mentor and author Sonji K. Grandy. Its heart is the 30-Day Butterfly Challenge: ten days of self-awareness as a caterpillar, ten of growth in the chrysalis and ten of transformation as a butterfly, each phase asking a little more than the last.

Every day the app offers one practice matched to the phase, a mood check-in and a moment of reflection in a private journal. A journey grid fills in as members show up, milestone badges mark each week, and day thirty ends with a Certificate of Transformation. Around the challenge sit habit tracking, a community feed where women share their stories and questions, a content library with mentoring series, and memberships that range from free to application-only one-to-one mentoring.

The product rests on two principles: zero shame and privacy first. A missed day never resets anyone without asking: members choose to restart from day one or keep their place and reset only the streak. Journals stay private, and data is encrypted in transit and never sold. A companion website at mentorherrising.com walks visitors through the journey, the app, the membership options and the founder’s story.

The challenge

MentorHER Rising had to feel like a warm, private corner for women doing personal growth work, not like another productivity tracker.

5 problems we had to solve, from UX design, security, learning design and more.

  1. 01 / 05UX design

    Growth without guilt

Habit apps often punish a missed day. Here, missing a day had to carry no shame, so members get two ways back and choose the one that feels right: restart from day one, or keep their day and reset only the streak.

  2. 02 / 05Security

    A journal that stays private

Members write about personal things, so the journal had to be private by design: data is encrypted in transit, never sold or shared with third parties, and can be deleted on request.

  3. 03 / 05Learning design

    Thirty days that build

The challenge needed to grow with the person: three ten-day phases that each ask a little more, one daily practice matched to the phase a member is in, and milestone badges at every week.

  4. 04 / 05Monetization

Free to start, deeper when ready

Membership had to support the business without locking anyone out: the Butterfly Challenge, daily practice, mood check-ins and the journal are free, while the community, the library, live sessions and one-to-one mentoring unlock with each tier.

  5. 05 / 05Design

One story across app and web

The app's lavender and gold and the website's warm editorial look had to tell the same caterpillar-to-butterfly story, from the store screenshots to the certificate members receive on day thirty.

  6. 5 of 5 solved
